Scrapbook Vol. 1
Do you enjoy looking at other people’s scrapbooks? We
found this one in the Museum covered with dust. We have no idea who donated
it (A lot of people leave us items and do not give any name or address). We
have copied the pages and bound them for your enjoyment. It is 30 pages of
newspaper clippings related to Bedford people but primarily from the
Southside of the county. If you are a long time Bedford resident you will
find clippings related to lots of people you know. Most of the clippings
seem to be from the 1940-1950 time period. Even if you have never been to

Skeletons in the
Closet- 200 Years of Murders in Old Virginia
Written by Therese A. Fisher, A. G., the murders in
this book are mostly around the Rappahannock River. The following is a
synopsis by the author:
The records I selected were much more arbitrarily chosen than the site or
the time period. While I had, on the average, one murder per year for the
200 year time span that I chose, not every murder’s details are included in
this book. I began by selecting murders that seemed unusual in some way. I
finally divided the book into categories and selected a number of murders
for each category
